I can remember when I first starting working from home. I was living in a one-bedroom apartment – needless to say, I did not exactly have room for my own home office. Nonetheless, I cleared out a corner of the living room and set up my computer desk and computer chair.

It took me a while before I was able to figure out exactly how to keep my small space organized – I had way too much “stuff” and way to little space. Finally, I opted to buy some cheap filing cabinets (I actually got them from a secondhand store) and a shelving unit that covered almost half a wall. Those were the days.

Now that my business has taken off, though, I have an actual home office – a room in my new home that I can use specifically for business and only for business. I love the way my home office décor accentuates the rest of the décor of my home. I love my new office chair and my new office desk. I love my wooden filing cabinets (this time, I did not buy them from a secondhand store).

Most of all, though, I love being my own boss! It is so nice to finally have the corner office that I always dreamed of, the office with the view. And it is so great knowing that my excellent “view” is actually of my own backyard!

I am not sure if I would have made it as far as I have today, though, if I did not start out with some great home office organization tools and excellent home office supplies.
