Q:
What are the different types of filing cabinets?
A: If you go to an office furniture
store, you will see that there is actually quite a variety of filing
cabinets. The main types of filing cabinets, however, are lateral
and vertical cabinets. The more traditional type of filing cabinets
are the vertical ones – they have a number of drawers that
can range from 2 to 5 or so, stacked vertically. These take up hardly
any space in a room. Later filing cabinets, on the other hand, are
wider than the traditional vertical ones. Besides the difference
between lateral and vertical, there are other differences between
filing cabinets… some are fireproof or waterproof, some lock,
some are made of wood, some are made of metal, some have counterweighted
drawers (lessening the chance of the cabinet tipping over when the
drawer is pulled out), and some have great suspension. Go to your
local office furniture store and check them out for youself.
